New fund to help community refurbishment projects

Help is at hand for community groups in Exeter with the opening up of a Strategic Fund to help pay for the refurbishment of community buildings.

From Monday 15 March, community groups can apply for up to £75,000 from Exeter City Council’s Strategic Fund.

To be eligible for this one-off grant, groups will need to be close to completing their fundraising target and have their refurbishment project ‘on the shelf’ and ready to go.

Groups will need to have a validated business case and project delivery plan agreed with their board or trustees.

Cllr Amal Ghusain. Lead Councillor for Culture and Communities, said: “This is a great opportunity for groups undertaking a building or refurbishment project that is ready to deliver, and we would welcome any applications.”

This Fund is open from 15 to 29 March.   For more information go to the City Council website at
