For the first time, the Knight Frank partnership created an annual Knight Frank Day of Giving, which saw all Knight Frank departments and offices around the UK raising money for five chosen charities in October 2013.

The whole Exeter office decided to do what they believe is the first ever “West Country Three Peaks Challenge” where they would walk/climb the 3 highest peaks in their patch within 7 hours. Small in comparison to the 3 highest peaks in the UK, perhaps, but nevertheless a good local challenge. The peaks chosen were:

Brown Willy, Bodmin Moor, Cornwall 1,378 ft

Higher Willhays, Dartmoor, Devon 2,039 ft

Dunkery Beacon, Exmoor, Somerset 1,705 ft

Following the team’s successful completion of this challenge, Knight Frank Exeter’s William Morrison said,  “Well we did it! It was a glorious day to do it with great weather and superb views all the way. All 3 peaks were conquered but travel time between the 3 slightly underestimated and so it took us 7 hours 45 mins!  Thank you so much to everyone that sponsored us. The Exeter office has so far raised just over £2000 to add to a national total for Knight Frank of over £88,000.”

Benefitting Charities included:

LandAid - LandAid uses the collective resources, expertise and influence of the property industry to help disadvantaged young people in the UK access the buildings, skills and opportunities they need to achieve their potential. Through grant awards and pro bono support, LandAid brings together charitable giving from across the industry to make a real difference to young lives.

Mary's Meals - Our vision is that every child receives one daily meal in their place of education and that all those who have more than they need share with those who lack even the most basic things. Our mission is to enable people to offer their money, goods, skills, time, or prayer, and through this involvement, provide the most effective help to those suffering the effects of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest communities.

Kid's Company - We provide a  safe, caring, family environment where support is tailored to the needs of each individual. Our services and support empower children who have experienced enormous challenges to lead positive and fulfilling lives. Despite great difficulties, the children we work with are hugely courageous and embrace the support we offer. Our services reach 36,000 and intensively support 18,000 children across London, including the most deprived and at risk whose parents are unable to care for them due to their own practical and emotional challenges. For many, the roles of adult and child are reversed and, despite profound love, both struggle to survive.

Barnado's - Barnardo’s transforms the lives of the most vulnerable children across the UK through the work of our projects, our campaigning and our research expertise. We believe we can bring out the best in every child whether the issue is child poverty, sexual exploitation, disability or domestic violence.

MPS Society - Provides information and support for children and young adults suffering from rare, progressive, life-limiting genetic diseases. The Society offers support including medical managament, social, palliative and breavement care.
