Teignbridge District Council is organising a heritage volunteer fair.

The volunteer fair will take place on 14 July from 6-8pm at Old Forde House, Newton Abbot.

The council is encouraging anyone with an interest in local heritage and wildlife assets to get involved and drop in to learn more about the local groups and societies.

There will also be an opportunity to meet representatives and find out about getting involved in practical outdoor works such as wildlife monitoring and path works with countryside rangers.

Attendees will also get the opportunity to look around old Forde house, a historical grade one building famous for its royal visitors.

Organisations confirmed to take part are Stover canal trust, Bovey Tracey Heritage trust, Teign heritage, valiant soldier, and many more.

Councillor Doug Hellier Laing, Teignbridge District Councils executive member for Economy, Skills and Tourism said: “Teignbridge is delighted to be hosting this summer early evening event.

“There are lots of opportunities to be part of something amazing, to become involved and make a real difference.”
