Happy Days Day Nursery in Exeter has achieved an ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted, a great accomplishment for this leading South West childcare provider.

The Exeter nursery, based on Peninsular Business Park, was opened in February 2014 and follows the blueprint developed by Happy Days Childcare and Education Manager, Jo Beighton.

The Happy Days Nursery Model has been perfected following five years of research and trialling. The results of which are innovative nursery environments created to deliver the very highest quality child care, focused on maximising children’s learning potential.

Jackie Arthur, Managing Director of Happy Days, said: “I am delighted with this result. Exeter is the first of a number of new nurseries we are planning to open throughout Bristol and the South West over the next few years, all of which will follow the same successful methodology and foot print. To receive an ‘Outstanding’ result is testament to the team’s hard work and dedication. I would like to pay particular thanks to our Exeter Nursery Manager, Stephanie and the rest of her team for becoming part of Happy Days”.

Stephanie Hearn Nursery Manager also commented, “joining Happy Days and understanding the company ethos has helped me to focus on providing the children with a safe and secure facility whilst encouraging the children to be independent in their learning”.

High motivation and focus was particularly praised by the Inspector, who also went on the compliment the team for ‘building excellent relationships with the children and their families’ and the ‘excellent focus on learning through play both indoors and outside by using a wide range of equipment and resources independently, enabling them to explore and develop new skills’.

To celebrate this accomplishment, Happy Days Exeter held an Open Day on Saturday 4 October, attended by over 60 families. The day provided the parents the opportunity to join in activities, ask questions and sample ideas to take away and share with their children at home.

Since its formation in 1991 Happy Days has developed into a leading operator, with a strong management team and well-developed infrastructure. With 15 nurseries across Devon and Cornwall, all achieving Outstanding or Good ratings, Happy Days is due to widen access to high quality childcare by opening its first Bristol nursery in Bradley
