Get fit for the festive season in Teignbridge

Christmas has come early at Teignbridge Leisure Centres with the opportunity for customers to take advantage of a festive promotion to help make getting fit fun.

Broadmeadow Sports Centre, Teignmouth, and Dawlish and Newton Abbot leisure centres are offering festive thank you promotions between 27th – 31st December to help encourage people to get fit and active.

The offers are:

* Buy one get one free body analysis
* Free swimming for children under 8 at Dawlish and Newton Abbot leisure centres
* Half price badminton at all three centres and half price squash at Broadmeadow Sports Centre.

Cllr George Gribble, Teignbridge District Council’s executive spokesman for communities, recreation and leisure, said: “Teignbridge is working hard to support people in their aspirations to have a more active lifestyle and help them achieve their goals and promotions like these are great motivators. Why wait until the New Year to make a resolution to get fit?

“Teignbridge is a really sporty, active district and we’ve worked closely with partners to bring forward more cycle routes and open spaces, things which are also supported in our newly adopted 20-year Local Plan.

“Our leisure centres offer a wide range of activities and we would encourage anyone who is not yet a member to check out the many things we do – from fitness classes to swimming and rackets sports, not to mention the packed holiday activity programmes during school holidays.

“We’d like to take this opportunity to wish our customers – and potential customers - a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.”

As part of its ongoing commitment to customer service, Teignbridge Council would like to confirm the Christmas opening times for the leisure centres.

Broadmeadow:

Wednesday 24 December: 8.30am – noon
Christmas Day/Boxing Day: Closed
Saturday 27 December – Wednesday 31 December: 9am – 4pm
New Year’s Day: Closed

Dawlish:

Wednesday 24 December: 7am – noon
Christmas Day/Boxing Day: Closed
Saturday 27 December, Sunday 28 December: Tuesday 30th 9am – 4pm
Monday 29 - Wednesday 31 December: 7am – 4pm
New Year’s Day: Closed

Newton Abbot:

Wednesday 24 December: 6.30am – noon
Christmas Day/Boxing Day: Closed
Saturday 27 December - Wednesday 31 December: 7am – 4pm
New Year’s Day: Closed

Normal hours resume on Friday 2 January.

Teignstarz Holiday Club at Newton Abbot Leisure Centre is running on 22nd & 23rd December and there will be a limited selection of classes running at all three centres between 27 – 31 December.
