Fire crews tackle Devon property blaze

The Fire Service were called to a report of a property fire in Kingsteignton Road, Chudleigh at 20.44 yesterday.

Initially three fire appliances were mobilised from Bovey Tracey and Newton Abbot along with an Operational Assurance Officer.  On arrival crews confirmed the property was well alight and requested a further fire appliances which proceeded from Ashburton, Torquay and Teignmouth.

Below is the fire service report to date:

21:05 A water bowser was requested which proceeded from Torquay.

21:15 Crews confirmed this is a detached building well alight, all persons clear from the building and accounted for.  Crews at work with two hose reel jets, 2 x 105 ladders and requested a further water bowser and an aerial ladder platform which both proceeded from Danes Castle.  Also an incident command unit and several specialist supporting officers are also in attendance at this incident.

22:06 This building is of stone construction and consisting of two storeys.  Building measuring 12m x 7m and is a private dwelling.  The whole house is involved in fire, crews extinguishing using jets and ladders.
