Emergency services attend A30 car blaze

Representatives from both Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service and Devon and Cornwall Police attended an incident which saw a car found well a light on the A30 between Honiton and Monkton.

An appliance from Hontion attended the incident which took place at just before 4pm today ( Saturday 8th March).

On arrival crews found a car in the middle of the carriageway well alight. Crews went to work extinguishing the fire using Compressed Air Foam, Hose Reel Jets and two Breathing Apparatus wearers.

Devon and Cornwall Police were also in attendance as the car was blocking part of the carriageway. The car was severely damaged by fire.

It is not yet known whether the cause of the fire is deliberate or accidental.
