The Donkey Sanctuary’s state-of-the-art donkey hospital will be featured on the popular CBeebies show - Ferne and Rory’s Vet Tales.

Presenter Rory Crawford spent the day at the The Donkey Sanctuary’s Brookfield donkey hospital near Honiton to film veterinary staff for the popular children’s show. It will feature in their ‘Vets Go’ sequence, where they visit animal sanctuaries and zoos to find out how vets care for their animals,

During their visit, the team filmed vets Vicky Grove and Kaz Pickering as they went about their work, treating some of the donkeys in their care. Rory watched the vets perform some essential dentistry work on a donkey called Paddy.

The group also visited the charity’s neighbouring Brookfield Farm. Here they met six month old donkey foal Ben K, the foal was born at the farm in May and was hand-reared by staff after his mother was unable to feed him.

The Donkey Sanctuary will feature on two editions of Ferne and Rory’s Vet Tales, the first on Tuesday 27 November where they follow Paddy’s trip to the dentist, the second on Wednesday 5 December when they met Ben K.

The Donkey Sanctuary works to transform the quality of life for donkeys, mules and people worldwide through greater understanding, collaboration and support, and by promoting lasting, mutually life-enhancing relationships.
