Devon Hotels launches new website
Exeter and Heart of Devon Hotels and Restaurants Association is gearing up for unprecedented visitor numbers with two large scale events coming to the region in the near future.
Mike Coombes of Mill End Hotel and Chair of the Association explains: “The next 16 months are going to be very exciting for Exeter and the heart of Devon with the Tour of Britain and Rugby World Cup both seeing stages hosted here, not to mention the introduction of domestic flights to Exeter from London’s City airport. The area is booming and will be on the international map thanks to world class events; it’s a brilliant time to really get behind our many top quality hotels and restaurants.”
On cue, the Association is unveiling their new website on 4 July, the conclusion of an exciting brand refresh at this crucial point: the beginning of the peak season for many local establishments. The website comes just before the summer holiday season kicks off and couldn’t be introduced at a better time. Many hotels and restaurants basked in a sell-out summer last year and the new website gives members a chance to show off their hotels and restaurants to late bookers.
Mr Coombes continues, “I am very excited about the new website; it is a real asset to our members and offers a tremendously useful resource to both visitors and locals alike. It is also a great shop window for Devon itself.”
Throughout the re-branding exercise, the Association has been ‘business as usual’, with the member hoteliers and restaurateurs confidently reporting a 25% increase on trade, year on year over the critical spring holiday periods. The new website is expected to strengthen that increase with its bright and bold new design showcasing the Association’s hotels and restaurants.
Crucially, the new website caters for the broad range of visitors who flock to the county. No longer just a ‘bucket and spade’ holiday destination, Devon has also become well known for its business credentials, with new and existing companies continuing to flourish and offer employment opportunities. The picturesque countryside and breathtaking coastline are also popular with budding brides looking for the perfect backdrop to their nuptials. September too continues to be a hit with walkers and retired holiday makers enjoying the cooler weather to hike the moors and make the most of the quieter beaches once the school holidays are over.
The new website will please Devon residents too. By offering various guides and making the most of local knowledge, the site includes events listings, information about cycling and walking in the area as well as places of interest for a day or weekend trip.
The Exeter and Heart of Devon Hotels & Restaurants Association showcases the best that Devon has to offer - helping to encourage and sustain tourism in the region.
