
Deliberate fire results in two casualties
Two men have been treated for smoke inhalation after a fire was deliberately started in Chapel Street, Buckfastleigh, this morning.
Three appliances from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident, which took place at just after midnight this morning ( Sunday 23rd February).
Upon crews arrival there was found to be a small fire in the basement of a 2 storey building. Crews extinguished the fire using 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet and one possitive pressure ventilation fan.
The fire, which is believed to be deliberate, resulted in two male casualties who had to be treated by paramedics.
Representatives from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service and Devon and Cornwall Police were unavailable to comment at time of going to press.
