Carers' TLC Meetings

Carers TLC in central Exeter - open to all carers!

A new group has started in Exeter city centre for home carers and it’s proving to be a huge success. Carers’ TLC gives Devon’s hardworking carers some well-deserved tender loving care.

The group meets fortnightly on a Monday from 2-4pm at The Hub on the Green in Exeter. The sessions are in two halves, the first hour is a taster session run by the expert guest and the second hour is a chance to have a chat, be pampered, craft together or just simply relax. So far the group has had fun with workshops on glass decorating, creative writing, Tai Chi, getting a good night's sleep and relaxation techniques and there are many more options on the way! These tasters are followed by some lovely pampering (for example hand massages, nail painting, acupressure treatments), as well as making cake pops and bath salts. There are also two ongoing craft projects at the moment: a communal mosaic and a rag rug.

Carers TLC has been given start-up funding by Devon Carers and this means that sessions are only £2 per person, including teas and coffees. They are specifically for carers to have a break from caring. There is no need to book your place. Often a support worker from Devon Carers is on hand to give advice or answer questions.

Here is the calendar of upcoming sessions:
Monday 22 July - Foraging Herb Walk on The Cathedral Green with Simon Mills
Monday 5 August - Red Coat Tour Exeter Old & New
Monday 19 August - Making Handmade Books with Nina Fenner
