Appeal for help with family reserach
Wendy Smith from Jersey is appealing for help to find a relative who may still be living in Exeter.
Wendy is researching her family history and would like to hear from anyone in knows or knew Marjorie Wild nee Lovatt-Smith.
Marjorie Lovatt Smith, who will now be in her 90s, was born in 1925 and joined the ATS as a Kine Theodolite Operator towards the end of the Second World War.
She then served a two and a half year tour in Uganda, followed by a tour of service in Nigeria, where she met her first husband Algar Robertson, in 1955.
Algar died in 1975.
Marjorie went on to marry John Vernon Wild CMG OBE in 1976, who she also met while working in Uganda. John was a well known cricketer locally and became a maths lecturer at Exeter Sixth Form College when he returned to the UK.
Marjorie’s last known address was in Exeter.
Wendy would love to hear from anyone who knows whether Marjorie is still alive or from anyone knew of her.
Anyone with any information can contact Wendy on 01534 876795 (after 5pm) or email her at wendyflossie@gmail.com
