Members of the public will be able to see at first hand Aviva Investors’ £7 million plans for the remodelling of the Guildhall Shopping Centre in Exeter at an event to be held on Tuesday 21 January.

The event will take place between 11am and 4pm at Unit 13 in the Centre’s Market Arcade and will feature a display showing architect’s drawings, CGIs and artist’s impressions. It will also include details about the thought processes behind the designs, the materials to be used and the timescales involved in the project.

Members of Aviva Investors’; team will be on hand to answer questions and explain any elements of the remodelling to visitors.

Plans for the £7 million remodelling of the Guildhall Shopping Centre were first unveiled before Christmas. Highlights include significant changes to the centre’s public areas, its High Street entrance and the Higher Market section adjacent to Queen Street, together with improvements to the centre’s facilities – including lifts and toilets.

Andrew McNeilly, Centre Manager at the Guildhall Shopping Centre, commented: “The remodelling programme is a significant and sensitive investment in the centre. It will allow us to attract quality retail or restaurant businesses to the Guildhall Shopping Centre, including national names new to the city and local businesses with aspirations to be part of the new look centre. We are looking forward to sharing our plans with our customers, and we hope that as many as possible will join us on 21 January.”

Simon Green, Associate Director, Aviva Investors, added: “The Guildhall Shopping Centre is a popular shopping destination in Exeter, and we are looking forward to putting in place our exciting plans. The result will be a centre which will still have broad appeal to the public and which will enhance the city’s reputation for excellent shopping and leisure facilities. We are looking forward to working with everyone at the centre and within in the wider community on the next stage of the project.”
