A combined £20K reward is being offered through Crimestoppers charity to find those behind the fatal attack of a man in Brixham

A reward of up to £20,000 is being offered through Crimestoppers charity for information that leads to the conviction of those responsible for the death of a man who was attacked in Brixham, Devon.

Mr David Williams, aged 49 from Brixham died on Tuesday 3 July 2018. His death followed injuries sustained following an altercation on the Quay in Brixham in the early hours of Friday 29 June 2018.

There was an initial assault on Mr Williams before midnight outside the Three Elms pub. A dispute then flared up again outside the Crown and Anchor pub on Brixham Quayside, which led to his subsequent death.

A combined reward of up to £20,000 is now being offered through the independent charity Crimestoppers after our £10,000 maximum reward offer was matched by third-party donors who have asked not to be named.

The total £20,000 reward is for information Crimestoppers receives that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for Mr William’s death.

The family of Mr Williams said: “After a whole year has gone by, we find ourselves once again asking for your help. We have only just been able to lay our Dad to rest, which has been made even harder knowing individuals are withholding vital information.

“We are appealing to them and any close family or friends who may have been confided in. We have had to live this last year without a Dad, Partner, Son, Brother and dear friend to many. Those with vital information have had to live with the burden on their conscience. We are desperate to get closure and justice for our Dad.”

Emily van der Lely, Regional Manager at the charity Crimestoppers, said: “We urge those who know something about the circumstances which led to Mr William’s death to speak to us anonymously. His family deserve closure and answers. You will be doing the right thing for Mr Williams, his family and the local community.

“If you know something but feel unable to speak directly to the police, please remember that Crimestoppers charity can help. Your information could also keep someone else safe from future harm.

“Please tell us what you know, no matter how insignificant you think it is. We promise that you will remain completely anonymous. In over 30 years we have always kept our promise of 100% anonymity to everyone who trusts our charity with their crime information.

“Our charity’s UK Contact Centre is open 24/7 on 0800 555 111 or you can use our anonymous online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org. No one will ever know you contacted us.”

** Please note: Information passed directly to police will not qualify. The reward will only qualify if information is passed to Crimestoppers’ 0800 555 111 number or via the untraceable anonymous online form at www.Crimestoppers-uk.org
