Riverside Leisure Centre to reopen this month

Work has begun to reopen Exeter’s Riverside Leisure Centre following last month’s devastating fire.

A statement from Legacy Leisure, which operates Riverside Leisure Centre, on behalf of Exeter City council said: “Following the fire on 21 February, the damage has been assessed and work has now begun to reopen the leisure centre facilities in stages.

“We can confirm that the sports hall will reopen on Saturday, March 25 and the Ultra White Collar Boxing event scheduled for that evening will go ahead. We are aiming to open a gym facility, along with the squash courts and dance studio, in early April.

“The swimming pool will be closed for a longer period and we are not yet in a position to determine when it will reopen, but staff will be working to ensure this happens as soon as possible. We would like to thank all our members and customers for their continued understanding and support.”
