Exeter City Football Club are offering special tours of their St James Park Stadium at 11am on 8 and 9 September.

The tours are part of Exeter City Council's Heritage Weekend (8-11 September) - an annual initiative that the Football Club has participated in for a number of years. The scheme offers members of the public the chance to visit (for free) historic buildings in Exeter.

The Exeter City Supporters Trust organises the stadium tours and stresses that this may be one of the last opportunities one will get to visit the historic Old Grandstand which was built in 1926 - a process disrupted by the General Strike of that year!

As an additional bonus this year Will Barrett from the Club's Heritage Lottery Fund backed St James Park project will be holding a special exhibition of Club memorabilia and artefacts for those taking the tours on 8 and 9 September.

You can book one of these free tours by ringing the Football Club Reception on  01392 411243.

There is no charge for the tours.
