In celebration of three successful years in business, founders of Thermalogica Terri Bainbridge and Lisa Portman hosted a party at the newly opened Exeter Cookery School.

It’s no coincidence that Thermalogica celebrated turning three during breast cancer awareness month. It was Terri’s own battle with breast cancer that led to her opening Thermalogica with childhood friend, Lisa, in 2013. In 2016, they remain one of the few UK based clinics specialising in thermal imaging as a means of early clinical detection and prevention of disease. Since opening their doors, the clinic has scanned over 500 clients and has recently expanded to provide mobile clinics all over the south of England, as well as a brand new London-based centre.

The highlights of the celebration included a cookery demonstration from Exeter Cookery School’s Head Chef, Jim Fisher, who prepared their signature starter dish of chargrilled vegetable stack in a tomato and fennel soup as well as a selection of nutritious vegetable canapés for guests to sample. Owners, Jim and Lucy Fisher commented, “we were delighted to be asked to host Thermalogica’s third birthday celebrations at Exeter Cookery School. It was a fun event, and a great opportunity for us to showcase that healthy doesn’t have to mean devoid of flavour.”

Guests were also given an exclusive preview of Thermalogica’s “Hot Tits Gallery”, showcasing a selection of prints from some of their clients breast thermal images.  Terri explained “we wanted to show how different women’s breasts look thermographically – we all have our own thermal fingerprint which only changes if something abnormal is happening.  This makes annual imaging with thermography a really interesting part of a woman’s breast health screening program.  As we can potentially see changes 8-10 years before a lump is big enough to be detected by a mammogram, we’re putting women at a huge advantage with preventative screening.” Lisa added “there are so many changes taking place in the medical field and looking at how the body functions through thermography is right on the cutting edge. Diet and lifestyle factors affect our bodies so much and the research into how we can reverse the early disease processes is fascinating.”

The event was a great success, attended by over 40 of Thermalogica’s clients.  One attendee, Ashley Petrons, told us “I went for my first scan with Thermalogica very soon after I heard that this was an option. As a young person who strongly believes prevention is better than cure, I want to know as soon as possible if there is something going on that I could be treating naturally and definitely stop it before it escalates into something more serious. The party was a great excuse to set all the seriousness to one side and just toast to Lisa and Terri’s success”. In keeping with the evening being a lighthearted and celebratory one, the birthday cake came in the form of 100 boob-shaped cupcakes, made by Mad Cakes. Everyone went home with a goody bag, which included gifts and samples kindly donated by Tags-On.com and independent Arbonne consultant, Deborah Stewart.

Thermalogica is aiming to expand further. They will continue to promote the importance of thermal imaging to allow for early detection of potential disease, which will allow for rapid clinical diagnosis and treatment. Thermalogica is one of only a handful of clinics in the UK specializing in early stage disease detection and prevention using thermal imaging.  Their main clinic is based in Exeter and have recently expanded with mobile clinics throughout the South West and London.
