Close on the heels of The Exeter Daily's 1st Birthday celebrations, Exeter’s John Lewis store is also celebrating its one-year anniversary this Saturday, and the store is inviting the people of Exeter to join in the fun.

On Saturday 12 October, John Lewis will be offering its customers a shopping experience with a difference. Every floor of the store will be hosting a different event, with each event centred around the products sold on that floor.

The event is set to cater to everyone. On the beauty and fashion floors ladies can attend workshops on how to get the perfect look, whilst a designated ‘ lads’ area is also going to be created, where men can laze on the sofa and play some games.

John Lewis are also making the store a haven for family fun, with face painting, party games and treasure hunts all taking place to keep the children entertained.

Kate Connock, branch manager of John Lewis Exeter said of the celebrations:

‘’We will be interacting with customers and be having more of a party atmosphere.’’

‘’It has been a hectic year but a huge learning curve. It will be great for the partners to take a moment out and enjoy the celebrations with our customers. They are now able to say they are really well established, they are great partners and the business is great and they can enjoy that on that day with our customers.’’

The store is also giving away gifts to those lucky enough to be celebrating their birthday on the same day as the anniversary.

Those with the appropriate ID will be able to receive a birthday present from John Lewis themselves.

Saturday 12 October will also see the launch of the next three charities due to receive support as part of John Lewis’ Community Matters programme.

As well as announcing the next three charities due to receive the stores support, the three charities that are currently being supported will be invited into the branch for a cheque presentation.

Kate Connock said: "I think our support of local charities shows that we are serious about being part of this community and we don’t just open the shop to sell things. We open shops because we want to make a difference to the community we are in."

If you aren’t around to enjoy all John Lewis has to offer this weekend, then do not fret, there are some other exciting dates to put in your diary.

On 21 November, following on from the Christmas light switch on, the store will be holding a Christmas event, which will see the store offering activities for customers to take part in and points of interest for the customers to look at.

Then on 23 and 24 November, John Lewis begins its countdown to the Christmas weekend, which means there are more activities to take part in if you have missed out on the fun so far.
