Jamie Oliver is excited to announce that Jamie’s Italian Exeter will open in February 2015.

The restaurant is situated in Princesshay with stunning views of the cathedral, and will be the first Jamie's Italian in the West Country.

A partnership between Jamie Oliver and his Italian mentor, Gennaro Contaldo, Jamie’s Italian has won thousands of fans for its delicious and affordable food and its friendly and welcoming service. The menu is based on dishes you’d find people eating all over Italy, made with care but delivered without fuss.

Jamie Oliver said: "I'm massively excited to be opening a restaurant in Exeter. It’ll be our first Jamie's Italian in The West Country and I think we've found real gem of a site in Princesshay.

"We'll be serving up beautiful antipasti, fresh pastas made from scratch daily on site, tasty grills and gorgeous seasonal salads, as well as a few naughty puds for a bit of indulgence – all made with the very best-quality, sustainable ingredients.

"I know you guys are going to love it!"

Focusing on top quality, sustainable ingredients and bold, simple flavours, Jamie’s Italian offers a relaxed way of enjoying and sharing dishes with family, friends and loved ones. The restaurant will feature pasta that’s made fresh on-site every day, an antipasti station with Italian cured meats and an open kitchen, bringing the Italian family-style of dining to life.

Guests will be able to enjoy tempting starters such as crispy porcini mushroom arancini – fried balls of indulgent porcini risotto oozing with fontina and mozzarella, served in a spicy arrabbiata sauce, and the Royal Caprese salad that’s bursting with roasted heritage tomatoes, mini buffalo mozzarella, San Daniele prosciutto and basil.

Fresh pasta dishes on the menu include Vegetable rotolo al forno – seasonal pumpkin, squash and spinach rolled in fresh pasta sheets and baked with tomatoes, ricotta and basil, and Jamie’s sausage pappardelle – a tasty combination of fresh pappardelle folded into a ragù of slow-cooked fennel and free-range pork sausages with Chianti and topped with Parmesan.

For an indulgent end to the meal, desserts include Chocolate, pear & honeycomb Pavlova – light and fluffy meringue with poached pears, whipped mascarpone, honeycomb & a drizzle of dark chocolate, and Sour cherry and almond tart served with whipped honey cream and smashed amaretti.

The restaurant will also offer a fantastic kids’ menu that’s been created with both children and parents in mind as all of the tasty dishes are nutritionally balanced, with no added salt.

Jamie’s Italian Exeter will open in February and will take bookings as well as walk in guests.
