Lympstone Manor has maintained its highly coveted Michelin Star for the eighth consecutive year, marking a significant achievement for the country house hotel and Chef Patron Michael Caines MBE. The two Michelin Key, Relais & Châteaux hotel has held a Michelin Star since 2018, awarded shortly after its opening in 2017. It continues to be recognised for its exceptional consistency, qualityand culinary excellence. The acclaimed chef is also celebrating a new Michelin star for MICHAEL CAINES at The Stafford London, awarded in last night’s ceremony just five months after the restaurant’s opening.

Speaking of the accolades, Michael said: “I am incredibly proud that Lympstone Manor has maintained its Michelin Star for the eighth-year running. This recognition reflects the passion, dedication and commitment of our entire team.  To retain a Michelin Star year after year is an achievement that demands focus, teamwork and heart, and I could not be more grateful to everyone who plays a part in this ongoing success.

“From the very beginning, our aim has been to create a restaurant and hotel that truly reflects its surroundings, celebrates seasonality and expresses a genuine sense of place. Devon and the South West offer some of the finest produce in Europe, and it is a privilege to work so closely with our growers, farmers and suppliers to bring those flavours to the plate.”

“To be awarded a Michelin star at The Stafford London is a truly special moment. It is the first in the hotel’s history, and a first for my debut London residence, making it even more meaningful. Michelin recognition is always about the collective effort — the passion, discipline, and consistency of the entire team. Thanks to James, Simon, Aubin, Alejandro, Luca, Gianluca, Nuno, and the entire team, it’s a proud moment to share. It marks the start of an incredible journey for everyone here at The Stafford London and acknowledges the time and commitment invested so far, motivating us all to keep evolving in this exciting new chapter.”

“The awards for both Lympstone Manor and the Stafford, belong to our exceptional teams and to our guests who continue to support us. It motivates us to keep evolving and delivering the very best we can.”

Lympstone Manor is the personal creation and vision of Michael Caines MBE, chef-owner and one of Britain’s most celebrated and influential chefs. It is here, across the Manor’s three elegant dining rooms, that he brings his philosophy of ‘Terroir Cuisine’ to life - food that expresses a true sense of place.

A long-standing champion of local, regional and seasonal produce, Michael has always maintained that Devon and the South West offer one of the finest larders in Europe. This exceptional natural bounty provides unique and outstanding ingredients, which he transforms into original cuisine that reflects both the character of the West Country and his own distinctive culinary style.

Wine is central to the Lympstone Manor dining experience and the estate has its own vineyard with 17,500 vines. The cellar contains over 600 bins carefully sourced from around the world, while the expert sommelier team suggests wines to perfectly complement each dish.

Lympstone Manor opened in 2017 on the foreshore of the Exe Estuary and today has 21 individually designed bedrooms and suites and six woodland-setting Shepherd Huts. There is also a casual Pool House restaurant alongside a heated outdoor pool and tennis court. The vineyard, within the heart of the grounds and produces award winning single vineyard status wines.

Set within 28 acres on the tranquil foreshore of the Exe Estuary, the Grade II listed Georgian manor house and estate is surrounded by woodland, vineyard, gardens and historic walks, including the Lady’s Walk, created in the 1700s. River and tidal waters, saltmarshes, ponds and wide estuary views create a landscape internationally recognised for its wildlife and birdlife.
