Gidleigh Park is delighted to have retained its two Michelin stars following the release of the Michelin Guide 2015.

Executive Chef Michael Caines MBE, who celebrates 20 years at Gidleigh Park this year, was awarded two Michelin stars for the first time in 1999 and today’s announcement marks sixteen continuous years for the hotel to hold the award.

Michael Caines commented: “The Michelin guide is arguably the most revered restaurant guide amongst chefs, restaurant critics and guests alike and we’re honoured to retain our stars for the sixteenth year running.

"Our team here at Gidleigh Park is amongst the best in the country and has worked so hard to deliver consistently excellent and exciting menus. Sixteen years is a fantastic achievement and I’m so proud of them all.”

The menu at Gidleigh Park offers a selection of modern British cuisine using locally sourced produce.

An eight course tasting menu is available for £140 per person, or an à la carte menu for £115 per person, including dishes such as ‘Dartmoor lamb with boulangère potato, fennel purée and tapenade jus’.  A two course lunch menu is offered at £44 per person.

During October and November this year, a special ‘Dom Ruinart Experience’ is also on offer at Gidleigh Park, including a five course tasting menu, specifically created by Michael to complement a bottle of Dom Ruinart’s finest Champagne, Rosé Brut, a bottle of which is included with dinner.

News of the Michelin stars for Gidleigh Park is celebrated as the hotel enjoys its status in 2014 as number one in the Harden’s Sunday Times Food List, and as its sister hotel, The Bath Priory, retains its Michelin star for the third year.

Following further recognition during September for Andrew Brownsword Hotels, The Bath Priory has been awarded an AA Notable Wine List award this month, becoming one of only 217 establishments in the UK to hold the title.

Sister hotels Buckland Manor and Amberley Castle were also awarded three AA rosettes on 23 September, joining The Bath Priory and Lower Slaughter Manor in holding three rosettes, with Gidleigh Park retaining its five AA rosette status.
