Ethical chef Robin Rea will be cooking up a storm in aid of the Devon Freewheelers blood bike charity at Rusty Pig in Ottery St Mary on November 29.

The special event will raise funds for the charity, which provides a free out-of-hours service to the NHS to deliver blood and other medical requirements to hospitals across the county and beyond via motorbikes ridden by volunteer riders.

Robin said: “I’m incredibly impressed by the work carried out by Devon Freewheelers, which does an amazing job for the people of Devon. “The motorcycle couriers are out all hours delivering vital supplies and are deserving of our support. I’m looking forward to producing a great Sunday lunch and raising a good sum for this brilliant local charity.”

Rusty Pig has had a stunning year winning two categories in the Live Love Eat Awards, being highly commended at the recent Devon Life Food & Drink Awards and shortlisted for the ‘Made in Devon’ category of the Devon Environmental Business Initiative Awards.

“Our food is always of the highest quality using local produce with the very best taste. We’re going to make sure the Sunday lunch – which will include an ‘epic’ pork main course ‒ served up in aid of the Devon Freewheelers is a delicious feast for all diners.”
