Queen Elizabeth's Students celebrating their 2022 A-Level results

QE announces 2022 A-Level results

QE Students well above average for progress

Rupert Poole, Principal at the Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton, said; “There has been a fantastic atmosphere in school this morning as the students have come in to collect their results.  We have students following the full range of subjects here at QE and 84% of our students achieved A* - C grades and 62% at A* - B.  We are delighted that 29% of students received the very top grades at A* - A, an incredible achievement, and this year especially so.

“These results once again put QE Sixth Form at the very top of the league tables for the progress our students make.  Our students make well above average progress, and this is down to the exceptional teaching and the subject knowledge of our staff, combined with excellent pastoral care that really supports students into the right university or career choice.  As Ofsted recently commented, our Sixth Form is well regarded, and rightly so!  I am so proud of their achievements and the embodiment of our vision to educate to empower. There has been plenty of evidence of that here today, with students confident and in control of their lives as they take their next steps.

“The students have been fantastic, but I would also like to thank all the staff who have worked hard supporting the students, especially during the lockdown months.  It feels like a long time ago now, but staff and students alike worked so hard throughout.  I really believe that exceptional results today are in large part due to the quality of education we provided during the lockdowns these students experienced.  QE Sixth Form is a very special community where students support each other, and we have high quality teachers who really know and understand them. That is an essential ingredient to our success, and it was very much in evidence at QE today.”

Head of Sixth Form – Vicky Evans said, “We are really pleased with the results and in particular the progression to university.  The national picture makes progression to university challenging this year, but the vast majority of our students secured their first-choice university.  This is down to the hard work of our students, but also the high-quality pastoral care that our dedicated team of Sixth Form Tutors provide.  Our students have been working exceptionally hard throughout the last two years and have shown great resilience.”
Jo Cherrett, Director of Post 16, highlighted “the determination and the quality of the study skills the students demonstrated, enabling them to make good progress, despite the lockdowns they have experienced.  They deserve every success in the future, and I am delighted for them.”

QE Sixth Form is the place to be to make great progress in your Post 16 education.  Applications are welcome for our September 2022 intake, come along to the enrolment day on Monday 5th September between 1.30pm and 3.00pm at the Western Road campus.
