Local companies support CHSW’s Rainbow Run

Devon Contract Waste, RGB Building Supplies and Exmouth-based Thomson Reuters, have pledged their support for Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) fundraising Rainbow Run which takes place on Saturday 9 June at Exeter’s Westpoint.

All three companies have chosen to sponsor coloured paint stations at the run, and Naomi Dymond corporate fundraiser at the charity’s Little Bridge house hospice near Barnstaple said: ‘We cannot thank our sponsors enough for choosing to support CHSW this year. Their sponsorship helps us to cover the costs of running our events and ensures that we can direct funds raised on the day, back into the care we provide. It’s also a great day out and a brilliant team building exercise to see who can throw the most paint!  We still have two paint stations up for grabs and if any local companies fancy taking them on, please give me a call!’

With 2,000 runners expected, Rainbow Run is the flagship fundraising event for the charity, and this year is set to raise an astonishing £60,000 for its Little Bridge House children’s hospice near Barnstaple. The event involves participants running the 5k course through different coloured powder paint stations and is open to all abilities.

This year’s event is also being supported by Radio Exe, which will be hosting on the day, and the event village will feature music and entertainment from acts such as Taiko Drummers. There will also be an army of volunteers, including representatives from the local rotary clubs, helping to make the event run as smoothly as possible.

This is the second year the event has taken place at Westpoint and the run continues to go from strength to strength with record numbers attending.  Fundraising from its participants helps the charity to support families going through unimaginable circumstances, providing respite breaks, palliative care, emergency stays, end-of-life care and bereavement support for life-limited children and their families across Devon.
