The Exeter’s Becky Penrose is celebrating after winning an internal fundraising competition to raise money for the company’s Charity of the Year, Rainbow Living.

The Exeter, a local specialist provider of healthcare and protection insurance, invited their employees to undertake individual fundraising activities to be in with a chance of winning the ‘Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow’ competition, just one of many fundraising events staff took on for Rainbow Living during 2015.

Overall the competition raised more than £1,770 through individual fundraisers and The Exeter’s staff fundraising matching scheme.  All money raised will go towards the total needed for the charity’s third Rainbow House, which will provide a home for a group of young disabled adults.

Ruth Airdrie from Rainbow Living was delighted to present Becky with her prize - a one night stay for two at the Budock Vean Hotel near Falmouth in Cornwall; the hotel generously supported the competition by providing the prize, which includes dinner, bed and breakfast and use of all the facilities. She also expressed her appreciation to the others who had taken part in the competition and worked so hard.

Winner Becky said: “I’m thrilled to have won the competition and to have helped Rainbow Living on their journey to acquire their third Rainbow House.  It’s been lots of fun and I’m very grateful for all the support I’ve received.  We are all proud to be supporting such a worthwhile local charity and are looking forward to another year of fundraising with and for Rainbow Living in 2016!”
