Deep Baths vs Large Baths: What's the Difference and Which One Should You Choose?

Deep baths are for people who want to be fully submerged. Large baths are for people who want more room to move.

Most people shopping for a new bath use the words 'deep' and 'large' as if they mean the same thing. They don't, and confusing the two is one of the most common and most expensive mistakes in bathroom design.

A deep bath is about immersion. A large bath is about space. Both feel indulgent. Both look beautiful. But they serve completely different purposes, and the one that belongs in your bathroom depends almost entirely on how you actually use a bath....

Feng Shui - What is it really all about?

Authored by Sue Holmes

Ever since I began studying Feng Shui back in the early 90s, I noticed that there seems to be a great deal of misinformation and ignorance about it. Although many articles have already been written on the subject, some people still think Feng Shui is about superstition, decorating a building with Chinese ornaments, ‘impractical mumbo jumbo’ and only relevant to Chinese culture. Over the years, it has been commercially exploited, with the sale of so-called ‘lucky’ trinkets, and this has given it a somewhat shallow reputation. However, this is a small and tarnished fraction of the full...

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service advise you to plan your escape route

As summer approaches, Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service is asking people to make sure their family, guests and loved ones know how to get out, stay out, and call 999 in the event of a fire.

A smoke alarm can give people the warning they need to get out of their home in a fire, but a blocked exit, locked door or unfamiliar surroundings can often shave vital seconds from their escape time, exposing them to the fatal dangers of toxic smoke.

Some simple steps and a clear escape plan in the event of a fire will help ensure that everyone can get out, stay out and...

South West tops the leader board for householders installing solar

Latest Ofgem figures reveal that over the last year the South West has topped the ‘league table’ for households installing solar panels, with more than 15,000 confirmed installations and around 57 MW installed capacity. This compares to the next closest region, the south east with 13,000 followed by the east midlands with just over 12,000 installations. In the last year Bristol and the surrounding areas alone contributed around 3,000 installations, about 10 MW of installed capacity, testament to the high uptake of green energy in the region. The South West also tops the leader board for...
