Fish for free this half term at Dawlish’s 5-star holiday park, Cofton Holidays
Dig out your wellies and waders as multi award-winning holiday park, Cofton Holidays, has announced the return of its popular Free Fishing experience.
Taking place on Wednesday 23rd and Wednesday 30th October 2019, Cofton’s Free Fishing experience will offer guests staying on site the chance to discover a new hobby, ready for the new year. On these days, the popular coarse fishing destination near Dawlish Warren will provide all the necessary equipment, bait and fishing permits completely free. Anglers will also have the opportunity to receive a 20-minute coaching session from an Angling Trust certified instructor and enjoy two hours of supervised fishing.
Cofton is home to five fishing lakes with 71 pegs sat amongst gravel bars, islands, reeds and bushes. With a variety of fish available to catch, the lakes have been designed to cater for both novice and experienced anglers to ensure that everyone is challenged and rewarded. The species of fish include carp, tench, roach, bream and perch. The lakes are fully accessible with level access and disabled parking nearby.
Having hosted a Free Fishing event back in May, Cofton Fisheries Manager, Luke Broderick, is looking forward to welcoming even more new anglers to the lakes this half term:
“The event in May was more successful than ever before and we were delighted by some of the reactions from families down at the lake. We had nearly 100 participants over the weekend and it was the best event yet.”

It’s a great chance for guests to try out something new and receive tips from our excellent instructors. They really know their stuff and you’ll be on your way to catching some big fish in no time.”

Based near the pretty coastline of Dawlish Warren, Cofton’s facilities include a heated indoor pool with splash pad area and hydrotherapy loungers, a gym, restaurant, pub, steam room, sauna, fitness studio, soft play area, playground, sports wall, outdoor pools and £20,000 indoor cycling studio. Guests also have access to five coarse fishing lakes, miles of cycle paths and nature trails that take visitors through woodland to the golden sands of Dawlish Warren beach and nature reserve.

The Free Fishing experience days are for guests staying at Cofton Holidays only. Guests can book in advance or turn up on the day. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
