Where are the best places for eco-luxury breaks this summer? We all love to travel, but sometimes, it is easy to feel guilty about our carbon footprint and if where we are traveling to is eco-friendly or not? However, these days, it is easy to demonstrate that both luxury and having strong green credentials are not mutually exclusive; so here is our roundup of the best eco-friendly luxury breaks to take this summer.

Private Island Paradise

One of the most luxurious places to visit that also prides its self on sustainability is the Song Saa Private Island resort in Cambodia. Guests can stay in one of the stunning over-water villas safe in the knowledge that the resort is mindful about their impact on the environment as well as aiming to improve the livelihoods of the local staff, too.

Marine Life

Gili Lankanfushi in the Maldives prides itself on its strong recycling policy and is also focused on marine conservation, working closely with the local community. Guests can enjoy a relaxing time with a glass of wine among the natural beauty of the island and rich marine biodiversity in the surrounding lagoons.

The Eco Has Landed

We love the EcoCamp Patagonia, which is situated in the heart of the beautiful Torres del Paine National Park. It is surrounded by pristine, crystal icebergs, and the resort offers the region’s first fully sustainable accommodations. Guests can stay in the most incredible luxury spherical domes, which feature windows perched high in the ceiling, and offer the ultimate tranquil glamping experience. If you are looking to switch things up to something a bit more high octane, you could head over to Viña del Mar, an exciting beach resort area close to both the Chilean wine country and the City of Santiago, which also hosted PokerStars’ Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) last year.

Luxury Safari

If you are looking for the ultimate safari but don’t want to compromise on your green credentials, then look no further than the “Camp of the Hidden Treasures” known as Campi ya Kanzi, which is a eco-friendly boutique lodge in Kenya that actively promotes the importance of sustainable community development and environmental conservation via ecotourism.

Bournemouth and Beyond

Fancy a visit to the U.K. but want to avoid the big smoke of London? Why not head two and a half hours away from the capital down to the sunny south coast to the adorable town of Bournemouth, which is home to the 14th best beach in the world. The Green House Hotel should be on your must-stay list. It was voted the “Best Green Hotel” in the U.K. in 2017, and all the hotel’s furniture is made from sustainable materials. Best of all, it is only a short walk from the beautiful beach.

Whether you favor Asia, Africa or Europe, there is a stunning destination for every taste. Sustainable travel remains a high priority for many travelers, and we all have a responsibility to make our trips as environmentally friendly as possible. What eco-friendly breaks have caught your eye?
