Are you planning a caravan tour or camping trip to Cornwall? Although there are a lot of holiday parks and camping sites scattered throughout the region – not all of them are equal.

Some sites may be closer to the more popular tourist destinations. Others may have certain attractions that make them unique.

If you’re not sure where to start, why not take a look at the top 5 caravan holiday parks and camping sites in Cornwall that are a notch above the rest:

  1. Chiverton Park

Situated in the Cornish countryside just 3 miles from St. Agnest, Chiverton Park is definitely one of the best family and couple oriented  caravan sites in Cornwall. Because it is so close to the north coast it is the perfect location if you want to kick back and relax on golden sandy beaches, surf, or body board.

The facilities in Chiverton Park are modern and in good condition. It caters to touring caravans and provides power supply, water supply, TV feeds, and waste disposal. Alternatively you can hire a holiday home on site.

  1. Praa Sands Holiday Park

As one of the southernmost holiday parks, Praa Sands is walking distance from one of one of Cornwall’s best beaches. Its facilities are top notch, and include an indoor swimming pool, gym, sauna, bar and restaurant. There is even a golf club nearby too.

Regardless of whether you want to rent out a caravan or stay in one of their lodges, Praa Sands is definitely not going to disappoint.

  1. Namparra Campsite

Nowadays Namparra is one of the more popular destinations in Cornwall due to it being the site of the TV series ‘Poldark’. The Namparra Campsite is a 6-acre, family-run site on the Lizard Peninsula that is a great location to explore the southern coastline.

Keep in mind this campsite is not the most formal, and is more a case of ‘back to the basics’. It does have basic toilet and shower facilities, but certainly lacks amenities compared to some other holiday parks.

  1. Hendra Holiday Park

As far as holiday parks go, Hendra Holiday Park is one of the biggest and busiest. That should come as no surprise seeing as it is located close to Newquay – the ‘fun capital’ of Cornwall where you’ll find some of the finest beaches, loads of activities, constant events, and lots of great restaurants.

The park itself has tons of facilities, including an indoor swimming pool, adventure playground, skate park, as well as bar and restaurant. It caters to touring caravans and camping, or you could rent a holiday home.

  1. Haven Perran Sands Holiday Park

The Haven Perran Sands Holiday Park is one of the most highly-rated in all of Cornwall. It is known for its excellent facilities as well as its central location that makes it the perfect base to explore Cornwall.

Onsite you’ll find there’s lots to do with the indoor and outdoor pools, surf lessons, restaurants, adventure golf, and more. On top of that Newquay isn’t that far away either if you fancy a trip there.

As you can see each of these caravan holiday parks and camping sites is unique in its own way and brings something special to the table. Hopefully between them you’ll have a place to start looking for the right choice.

Ideally you should choose a holiday park based on the type of holiday you’re planning as well as its location, budget, amenities and facilities. It may take some research on your part, but it won’t be too hard to find what you’re looking for considering the number of excellent parks in Cornwall.
