What to Consider When Applying for Life Insurance with Diabetes

Living with diabetes does not automatically prevent you from taking out life insurance. Many people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes are accepted for cover each year, although the application process may involve more health questions than a standard application.

Insurers assess each application individually. They may consider the type of diabetes you have, how long ago you were diagnosed, your recent blood glucose readings, your treatment and your general health. Understanding this process can help you prepare and avoid some of the common problems that cause applications to be...

Tabata Interval Training burns fat

Tabata interval training falls under the HIIT [High Intensity Interval Training] bracket and is probably one of the quickest but hardest sessions many athletes and trainers will use.

It’s a great way to torch fat and increase anaerobic endurance all in a short space of time. The key to maximising results using this method is just like any other HIIT session, put in 100% effort on your time on and make use of your needed rest periods.

One of the many benefits of Tabata is that it can be done anywhere, all you need is 4 minutes, a space and a timer.

Working out regularly will help substantially lower your blood pressure. Even a brisk walk for 30 to 60 minutes every day could show considerable effect. By exercising regularly, you could reduce the risk of developing full-blown hypertension as well. Talk to your physician about developing an exercise regime. If you haven’t been leading an active lifestyle, even moderate activity, such as light stretching or walking, can be helpful. Avoid the temptation of remaining inactive during the weekdays and working out during just the weekends. This could cause more...

Dr Christopher Clark, of the University of Exeter...
