Exeter-based baker Glenn Cosby is sharing his baking expertise to support Epilepsy Action’s National Tea and Cake Break. Epilepsy Action is the UK’s leading epilepsy charity. Glenn, who was a contestant on the BBC’s Great British Bake Off in 2013, has donated a recipe to the charity to inspire other budding bakers to get involved and bake a difference for people with epilepsy.

National Tea and Cake Break takes place on Friday 17 October. Tea drinkers and cake lovers are encouraged to get their mixing bowls and teapots at the ready and host an event to raise funds for Epilepsy Action. The charity supports the 600,000 people living with epilepsy in the UK and their families.

Glenn joins a host of famous faces and other Great British Bake Off contestants, who have shared their baking know-how to support the event in recent years. All of the recipes, including Glenn’s recipe for peanut chocolate butter cupcakes, can be found on the Epilepsy Action website.

Glenn is encouraging everyone to get involved with National Tea and Cake Break. Glenn said: “National Tea and Cake Break is a fantastic way to raise money for the valuable work of Epilepsy Action while having fun with friends and family at the same time.”

Michael White, fundraising events officer at Epilepsy Action, said: “We are really thankful to Glenn and all of the bakers that have shared recipes with us. We hope that Glenn’s recipe will kick-start people’s baking creativity and inspire them to hold a National Tea and Cake Break, as it really is a piece of cake! Whether it’s a simple cup of tea and cupcake at home with friends, a tea party in the office or a school bake sale, anybody can get involved.

“Everyone who registers to hold a National Tea and Cake Break will receive a free pack bursting with hints, tips and tools to get their event off to a sweet start. Anyone who takes part really will be baking a difference for people with epilepsy.”
