Cornish Bakery to open in Exeter

Cornish Bakery, the independent, founder-driven company first started in Mevagissey, Cornwall, has announced that it will be coming to Exeter.

The beautiful, design-led new bakery is set to open in style on Monday 17thNovember. The company already successfully operates bakeries nearby in Sidmouth, Totnes and Taunton.

Located in a corner unit at 38 High Street, what was previously a Mountain Warehouse shop will be transformed into a stunning welcoming space for up to 46 visitors to gather and relax whilst enjoying the bakery’s range of exceptional food and drink....

On October 14 Rusty Pig is taking over Exeter’s Exploding Bakery for one night only, with a special pop up feasting house.

‘Ethical chef’ Robin Rea is taking his food wagon complete with mobile wood fired oven to the bakery and café located right beside Exeter Central Station, where he’ll be serving up the Rusty Pig’s unique take on funky flat bread pizza.

Powderham Food Festival's most successful year yet

The fifth Powderham Food Festival has been the most successful yet with over 6000 visitors attending the two-day event in the grounds of Powderham Castle, during the first weekend of October.

Online ticket sales for the festival were four times higher than the previous year, showing that more people were planning ahead and booking in advance of the event.

The Stable restaurant is set to be next to open in Exeter’s Queen St. Dining and has marked the occasion by putting two vintage caravans on the roof.

The Southern restaurant, opening Thursday 29th September, will be the fourth to open in Exeter’s new dining destination, following the successful unveiling of Turtle Bay, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, and Absurd Bird.

A festival celebrating the Exe Estuary and its cuisine takes place on Exmouth Seafront this Saturday, 24th September.

This year the Exe Estuary Partnership’s Spirit of the Exe Festival joins forces with the second Exmouth Mussel Festival.

The Exe Estuary Management Partnership is a group of the eight councils and a number of other organisations responsible for managing the Estuary including Devon County Council, Natural England and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.
