Celebrating 100 Years of Morecambe and Wise: Eric and Ern Comes to Exeter

Eric and Ern, the new show from Ian Ashpitel and Jonty Stephens - the Olivier nominated duo behind the hugely celebrated and critically acclaimed West End hit Eric & Little Ern - will be coming to Exeter Northcott Theatre from Wednesday 16 to Sunday 20 December, as the culmination of an extensive Autumn/Winter UK tour.

The show’s 2026 national tour is a mark of celebration for the 100th birthdays of Eric Morecambe (born 14 May 1926) and Ernie Wise (born 17 November 1925) and their legendary comedy partnership.

A live broadcast of the award-winning Fleabag will be coming to the big screen in Vue Exeter this September courtesy of National Theatre.

The one-woman play, written by and starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge, was the inspiration for the phenomenally successful BBC television show of the same name, and has now returned to the West End after a sold-out New York run.

As well as the successful play and series, Waller-Bridge has written the spy thrillerKilling Eve and is currently working on the next James Bond instalment.

‘Britain's Got Talent’ star to open Dartmoor Folk Festival

A MAN who impressed three of the judges in Series 13 of the ITV talent show “Britain's Got Talent” - but failed to impress Simon Cowell so much that he became irritated and stormed off - will perform the official opening of the 42nd Dartmoor Folk Festival on Saturday, August 10.

Staff at the state-of-the-art veterinary hospital at the international animal welfare charity The Donkey Sanctuary will feature on the CBBC show ‘The Pets Factor’ this Friday 19 July. The show will be aired at 9.05am and repeated later in the day at 4.35pm.

James Greenwood, one of the show’s professional vets visited The Donkey Sanctuary in Devon earlier this year, where he rolled up his sleeves and donned his surgical gown and assisted veterinary staff in performing castrate operations on three colts named Ben, Moshi and Casey.

The work of a local tapestry artist has been selected for a prestigious international exhibition in London and Nottingham.

Tapestry weaver Christine Sawyer from Exeter has had ‘Split Detail’ selected for Heallreaf 2019 where there are 40 exhibitors from all over the world. The exhibition runs from September 7 to 21 at Surface Gallery, Nottingham and then from October 15 to 26 at Espacio Gallery, London.

The Donkey Sanctuary’s 50th anniversary celebrations continues as its multi-award-winning RHS Chelsea Flower Show garden has been re-built back at the charity’s international headquarters in Sidmouth, Devon. The garden will open to visitors from Monday 15 July and like the Sanctuary, will be free of charge for people to visit.
