REVIEW: Icescape Westpoint

With four kids between us aged 12 to 18, organising a festive family outing usually involves spreadsheets, negotiations and at least one teenager muttering, “Do I have to come?” under their breath.

So when Icescape Westpoint announced its much-anticipated return, we jumped at the chance to test whether it could deliver that rare miracle: something all of them would enjoy.

Thousands of excited fans descended on Newton Abbot Racecourse to watch Boyzone and Alesha play the racecourse’s first-ever concert on Sunday 28th June.

Open Mic UK’s 2015 auditions begin in two months.

The national music competition Open Mic UK is the biggest search for unsigned artists in the UK and it’s calling all singers, singer-songwriters, vocal groups, rappers and solo artists to get involved in their singing auditions which begin in August. Earlier this year Future Music launched a brand new Songwriting Competition to find the best songwriters in the UK and it has found its first winners! Stars come out for Waterloo concert

Nearly 800 supporters and guests packed into Exeter Cathedral on June 20th to enjoy an evening of music and readings to remember the Battle of Waterloo and honour the courage and service of British soldiers over the last 200 years.

Joining the Deputy Lord Lieutenant and Deputy Lord Mayor were Chelsea Pensioners, members of the Coldstream Guards and local favourites Caroline Quentin and Angela Rippon. The concert was held to raise funds for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the National Charity of the British Army.

Standing ovations have greeted every packed performance of Grease, presented by Stage by Stage at the Northcott Theatre this week.

Over 2,000 people have seen the classic show, presented by Exeter's own theatre arts school with a cast of 70 aged from 11 to 19.
