REVIEW: Icescape Westpoint

With four kids between us aged 12 to 18, organising a festive family outing usually involves spreadsheets, negotiations and at least one teenager muttering, “Do I have to come?” under their breath.

So when Icescape Westpoint announced its much-anticipated return, we jumped at the chance to test whether it could deliver that rare miracle: something all of them would enjoy.

Spoiler: it did.

The Kinks to play Exeter Corn Exchange

Fans of legendary UK rock band The Kinks are in for a treat at Exeter Corn Exchange on Wednesday 12 August.

Kast Off Kinks features former members of the band back together again to re-live the good times.

The line-up features Mick Avory (the band’s original drummer), John Dalton (who played with the band in the 60s and 70s) on bass and vocals, Ian Gibbons (from the 80s and 90s line up) on keyboards and vocals and Dave Clarke (formerly of the Beach Boys) on guitar and vocals.

Sounds of the summer at Knightshayes

Knightshayes is hosting its third annual celebration of local food and music in the parkland on every Sunday during August. These are free events for the whole family.

Soupstock was started in 2013 as a way to help new audiences discover Knightshayes. The aim was to put together an event to complement the local food served in the café, much of which is sourced from Knightshayes’ kitchen garden. A 'Full House' for Exeter Symphony Orchestra

A varied programme, a local composer, a talented soloist and a collaboration with a Devon youth ensemble has provided the perfect mix for a sell-out concert on July 11th for the Exeter Symphony Orchestra.

Exeter’s Summer Film School will be held at Poltimore House from 3 – 7 August.

It offers children aged between 10 and 13 a unique opportunity to create their own short film.
