Internationally acclaimed chamber orchestra London Concertante will come to Exeter on Friday 27th June for a 7:30pm performance at the Cathedral .

Set amidst the gentle glow of candlelight, the programme celebrates some of the greatest works in the classical repertoire – from Mozart’s effervescent overture to The Marriage of Figaro to Vivaldi’s visionary Four Seasons . Exeter Fanzone open for RWC semi finals

Exeter’s Fanzone is open this weekend for the Rugby World Cup 2015 semi final matches.

As well as live coverage of the games, there's a jam-packed entertainment schedule and the best local food and drink all... all in Northernhay Gardens in the city centre.

Princesshay will reveal its brand new Christmas lights display at the Christmas lights switch on event on Thursday 19th November 2015 from 4pm – 8pm.

Princesshay will host Exeter city centre’s Christmas lights switch on for the fifth consecutive year.

Michael Caines MBE and Tony Rowe OBE who have recently been awarded the freedom of city will switch on the city centre’s Christmas lights at 6.30pm, together with the city’s rising stars Sound of the Sirens who will also be performing in the lead up to the big switch on event.

Celebrate Halloween this October half-term at Exeter’s spooky Underground Passages.

Between 24 October – 1 November there will be special ‘Witches & Wizards Tours’ where children are invited to explore under the city’s streets on special guided tours and discover ingredients for magic spells. Using the ingredients found, the young adventurers are challenged to concoct their own magic spell and enter it into a competition with the opportunity to win one of many fantastic prizes!

On Saturday 31 October the tour guides will also be running special ‘Gory Story Tours’...

Tarka takes Exeter by storm

Exeter Cathedral was transformed into a rural scene on Tuesday evening when HRH the Countess of Wessex attended the first night performance of Tarka the Opera, a specially commissioned work for the Two Moors Festival.

The audience were treated to a cast of professional musicians and singers alongside the Dorchester Choral Society and school children from four Exeter schools in a two hour performance of the opera. On Saturday 5 December the Force Cancer Charity Christmas Fair is taking place in the Cullompton Community Centre, organised by Dorcas Philips for the fourth year running.

Featuring city landmarks, national landscapes and the work of the English visionary Cecil Collins, the new exhibition of Exeter’s Fine Art starting at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM) on Saturday 24 October will delight art lovers.

Drawn from RAMM’s extensive collection of topographical prints, drawings and watercolours, distinctive city landmarks include Mol’s Coffee House and the Higher Market. The fine art collection also includes outstanding British landscapes and some of the finest are included providing dramatic views of Wales, the Lake District and Yorkshire.
