This January Shotgun Theatre, the award-winning musical theatre company from the University of Exeter, are proud to present their production of the laugh out loud musical, Avenue Q.

With performances in the Exeter Phoenix from 18th to 21st of January, the show follows the story of Princeton, a recent college graduate who suddenly finds himself thrown into the real world and renting an apartment on Avenue Q, New York.

Line Up: Top stylist’s exhibition opens in Devon

Line Up is an exhibition of contemporary hand-made objects, curated by interior stylist and author Sania Pell. First on show at London’s Flow gallery, the exhibition has now reached Devon, and reveals the art of interior design as seen in magazines such as Wallpaper and Elle Decoration.

Inspiration for the show derived from the collections at Kettle’s Yard historic house and gallery (Cambridge), where curator Jim Ede integrated his own art and craft collections into the setting of his domestic home. The Mandolin Orchestra of Devon has been running for several years and has performed at many events to critical acclaim, including the London Mandolin Festival and the Banjo, Mandolin and Guitar Foundation rally.

In the early twentieth century the mandolin had something of a golden age. Across the country there were ensembles springing up in every major town, some were a mixture of banjo, guitar and mandolin, others were mandolin orchestras. Daily readers help Beatles author

A Manchester author looking for fans who witnessed performances by The Beatles in Exeter has been overwhelmed by the response from Daily readers.

Richard Houghton called on the Daily to help him track down gig goers who saw any the Fab Four’s ABC shows in March 1963, October 1963 and October 1964 for a ‘people’s history’ of the group.

Richard Houghton said: ‘I’ve had several readers get in touch with some great memories of the three visits The Beatles made to the ABC.’

RAMM is investigating the lives of people who donated objects to the museum’s World Cultures collection, including Arnold Riley who donated a re-modelled Melanesian skull in 1935.

He was a colourful character who lived in Dawlish between 1924 and 1947 and RAMM is keen to contact any of Mr Riley's living relatives, particularly those who may live locally and may have information and photographs that would shed more light on his life.
