Steve Knightley to perform at Ramm

Singer-songwriter and museum patron Steve Knightley returns to Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum on the evening of Thursday 20 June to sing songs from the English countryside.

The special solo performance will be a mix of his own and traditional folk songs: an evening of haunting music with powerful lyrics, inspired by the people and landscape of Steve’s native West Country.

Described by Mike Harding of BBC Radio 2 as “One of England’s greatest singer songwriters”, Steve Knightley is lead singer in nationally acclaimed folk band Show of Hands. The evening will be a celebration of talent in the South West; Exeter-based Steve Knightley will be surrounded by the paintings and prints of Gillian Ayres, who lives on the Cornish border and is one of Britain’s leading abstract artists.

The concert starts at 7pm. Tickets cost £20 and are available from the museum reception in person or by phone using a credit or debit card on 01392 265858 during opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm. A bar will be supplied by SW Events.
