Singer-songwriter and half of Show of Hands star Steve Knightley is to perform in many Devon locations as part of his Grow Your Own Gig tour.

The Exeter-based star, who with Phil Beer has previously won the Best Live Act title in the 2004 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, is set to perform in as many village halls and untapped grass root community halls as possible across England, with five concerts taking place in Devon.

Playing in rural locations is particularly important to the star, who has lived in Devon since the age of five. Steve said: “Village halls are focal points for rural life, attracting a unique audience and it makes it as much a social occasion as a music event.”

Audiences in Lympstone, Otterton, Uffculme, Kenn and Buckernelll will be treated to performances from Steve's lastest album Off the Beaten Track, a new CD mirroring the village hall set list.

Devon locations Steve will be playing at include:

  • Lympstone Village Hall on Sunday 18 May
  • Otterton Mill on Thursday 3 July
  • Magelake in Uffculme on Friday 4 July
  • Kenn Village Hall on Wednesday 24 September
  • Doug's Shed at Buckerell on Sat 27 September
