Sunday 28 July sees the start of this year’s Seaton Air Ambulance Week.

The event goes on for eight days with a full and fun-packed programme to be enjoyed by locals and holiday-makers alike with proceeds going to Devon Air Ambulance Trust.

There will be something for all ages including live music on the Esplanade stage, competitions, a dog show, classic car shows, ride outs, children’s fancy dress and lots lots more for families to enjoy on Seaton Seafront and Town Centre.

“Seaton Air Ambulance Week has become a major and well established summer event on the Seaton calendar. It is looked forward to and supported by residents, businesses and visitors alike,” said Janine Barradale, Secretary of the Seaton Air Ambulance Supporters.

“We chose this charity because the Devon Air Ambulance Trust has no funding from any other sources, except fundraisers and we know how valuable this service is in this location.”

The week kicks off with a Biker’s Day Out on the Esplanade, organised by the Jurassic Coast Bikers. Throughout the afternoon there will be street entertainment and at 3pm the famous Pooh Sticks River Race starts at the Harbour Bridge.

Throughout the week there will be live entertainment and competitions in the town’s pubs and on Friday 2 August a Children’s Pirate Parade and Treasure Hunt accompanied by a pirate band. A Pirate Night for the adults follows with the Vault Bar providing the headquarters.

On Saturday 3 August a street market, dog show, children’s fancy dress competition will entertain, while dancers and musicians revel on the seafront.

In addition and not to be missed will be the hysterical display by The Seaton Red Sparrows. This all culminates in an exceptional extravaganza on Sunday 4 August which includes a Classic Vehicle Show and plenty of music from local musicians so make this week a must for your diary.

Many of the events will be subject to the weather and tide so for last minute changes check out the www.seatonbay.com website or the Facebook page.

The official Seaton Air Ambulance Week programmes will be on sale early July in Seaton shops/businesses. Every penny raised from the programme sales will be going to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
