Toby Buckland, horticulturalist, writer and TV presenter has announced the date for his 2016 garden festival at Powderham Castle.

The festival will run over two days, Friday and Saturday 29 and 30 April, from 10am-5pm.

Toby's festivals bring together gardening enthusiasts and specialist growers who share their considerable knowledge in a festive, friendly and inclusive atmosphere.

In the space of less than two years Toby has created two unique festivals that are now firm fixtures in the annual British gardening calendar.

His popular festival at Powderham Castle has become the foremost gardening event in the South West. And building on this success, 2016 sees the return of his Summer Garden Festival in the parklands of Bowood House and Gardens, Wiltshire in June.

Toby said: “We have done great things with these shows in a very short period of time, enabling more specialist nurseries to meet a wider public.

"Feedback from visitors tells us that there's a huge gap in the market for a new type of gardening event. They appreciate the beautiful locations and the readily shared specialist knowledge from both nurseries and guest speakers. Consequently, our festivals have real down-to-earth popular appeal.”

At Toby Buckland’s Garden Festivals you can expect inspiring guest speakers, hand-picked exhibitors, practical workshops, the best of garden accessories, outdoor cooking, woodland craft, the very finest locally sourced food and drink and an abundance of exceptional flowers and plants, all situated in beautiful heritage locations.

Firstly, over the May Bank Holiday, Powderham Castle, set in an ancient deer park on the banks of the River Exe, provides a perfect location for the Spring Event. Here, among the fabulous rose garden and the multitude of spring bulbs under the massive oaks of the extensive Castle gardens, the show will be exploring “Big Ideas for Small Spaces” relevant to todays smaller gardens, in addition to wider gardening themes.

This is followed in early June by Toby’s Festival at Bowood House and Gardens. Toby’s team is already hard at work laying the foundations for the next festivals, digging out superb exhibitors, and creating events of exceptional gardening enjoyment. Watch this space.
