The Donkey Sanctuary will be running its Best Friends Forever Trail over the February half term (Saturday 10 - Sunday 18 February) and showcasing its new visitor attractions.

Through a range of interactive exhibits, visitors will discover how The Donkey Sanctuary works to improve the welfare of donkeys and mules around the world and the communities that rely on them. Visitors can take a trip back in time and explore the history of donkeys and the origins of The Donkey Sanctuary itself. Learn fascinating donkey facts, see what goes on behind the scenes at the donkey hospital and find out how donkeys become teachers when they interact with humans.

Plus! It is common for donkeys to bond and form lifelong friendships, visitors can discover which of the sanctuary’s donkeys are best of pals in the Best Friends Forever Trail. Trail sheets are just £3 with a prize on completion.

Get the whole family outdoors for a winter walk and meet some of the 100’s of donkeys who are cared for at the Sidmouth site, including giant Poitou donkeys, the adoption donkeys and the gorgeous miniature donkeys.

When it’s time to warm-up the new family-friendly restaurant, The Kitchen, serves a wide selection of high-quality locally sourced food and is open between 9am – 4pm daily.

The Donkey Sanctuary is open seven days a week from 9am till dusk. Admission and parking is free. Dogs on leads are welcome. All proceeds go towards The Donkey Sanctuary’s work in the community and worldwide.
