‘Donkeys in the Park’ is the child-friendly family festival not to be missed this summer. Held on Saturday 16 June at The Donkey Sanctuary’s beautiful site overlooking the sea near Sidmouth, it’s the chance to spend the day with family and friends and immerse yourself in a vibrant scene of live music, theatrical performances, family films and feel-good activities.

A cracking line-up of local musicians and bands provide the soundtrack for the day, ranging from acoustic vibes to sweet summer sounds with some banging beats thrown in for good measure. To kick-back and relax, visitors can retreat to the Film Tent to enjoy some family favourite movies with a box of popcorn.

The day promises something for everyone with a whole host of activities that include family zumba and yoga, bouncy castles, face painting, crafts, Mini Professors, storytelling sessions plus of course, the chance to meet some of the adorable resident donkeys.

Children will be captivated by enchanting performances of ‘The Magic Garden’ brought to life by Boo to a Goose Theatre Productions. Through the magic of storytelling, the live theatre tells the tale of a teddy bears picnic in a magic garden under the shade of a magic tree, home to woodland creatures and fairies using puppets music and games.

The food arena will be offering a range of delicious offerings and refreshing drinks to keep appetites satisfied and ensure thirsts are quenched throughout the day.

John Crouch, visitor engagement manager at The Donkey Sanctuary says: “This one’s for the kids, and the perfect summer party! It’s a day time festival with entertainment in three zones, theatre, music and film, and the ideal time to relax with family and friends.”

Family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) are £25, individual adult tickets are £10, under 16s £5 and under 3s free. Tickets are available from: https://donkeysinthepark.eventbrite.co.uk
