A successful novelist from Exeter has just published her very own love story – and she hopes it will inspire others to find wisdom, peace and happiness.

Mother-of-two Catherine Harman wrote two gripping thrillers after relocating to Devon from her native Lancashire at the turn of the century to buy and run a convenience store.

The former computer programmer’s new surroundings inspired her to write the sensational five-star novels, What the Butler Saw and the sequel Rupert’s Unravelling.

Now, more than a year on, Catherine turned her attentions to telling her own story of life-change by adopting a different way of thinking.

Rediscovering Wisdom, Peace and Happiness is much more than just another self-help book.

Catherine explains: “When I first heard that we only ever see what we see, from our own unique perspective, there were very few people in the movement and hardly any resources.

“Consequently, it took me quite a long time to deeply understand the nature of thought - I’d assumed, as we all do, that what my thoughts told me, was reality.

“It isn’t.

“Understanding that we don’t need to believe, let alone act upon any of our thoughts was huge for me as was ceasing exhausting myself, trying  to change things we have no power over. I found that we can always, always choose love over fear. I want, through Rediscovering Wisdom, Peace and Happiness to raise awareness and both touch and help as many lives as I can.

“I want to spread the love.”

Multi-talented Catherine trained as an aerobics, Pilates and fitness pole instructor following the birth of her son and daughter.

But it was after holidaying in Devon more than 18 years ago that she decided on not only a career move but also a change of location.

After attending a life-coaching course, more recently, with a friend, a whole new meaning to life also began to emerge.

Within the pages of the fascinating Rediscovering Wisdom, Peace and Happiness Catherine describes how small changes began to have a big impact.

She added: “Rediscovering Wisdom, Peace and Happiness is about my simple belief that our experience of life comes entirely from our thoughts.

“This idea is nothing new, but now seems to be the time people are ready to change, ready to love their own lives.

“Life can be fun, wonderful, beautiful, peaceful - allow the possibility I might be bringing something to you that will reconnect you to the wisdom, peace and happiness that are within us all.”
