Superact's Exe-Arts programme is hosting an Open Pottery event on BBC Get Creative Day

Everyone is welcome at the Exe-Arts Pottery Open Day on Saturday 2nd April at St David’s Community Centre pottery studio in Exeter.

Superact, a not-for-profit arts & wellbeing organisation based at the Community Centre, are BBC Creative Champions and the event is running as part of the BBC’s day celebration of all things creative.

The Exe-Arts initiative has been running since September 2015, with a multitude of open community arts sessions including graffiti, lantern making and photography. The programme also included pottery which resulted in the reopening of the existing pottery and kiln at the Exeter Community Centre.

The Pottery was in use in previous years before the Centre’s recent renovations but had not been put back into action. Superact’s initiative managed to get it up and running, and the Community Centre is now running its own project, ‘Sense of Space’, designing wall tiles for their new Sensory Garden.

The Open Day will be a chance for people of all ages to come and have a go at making something with clay. The scheme hopes to be able to start running regular sessions for the public in the near future. Come along and let them know you are interested in taking part!

The event runs from 11am–3pm and is free. Refreshments will be provided.
