Exeter based learn to read website ReadwithPhonics.com has partnered with the Book People, one of the UK's largest distributors of children's books in an exciting new initiative that will provide their users with free children's books.

“Digital learn to read resources such as ReadwithPhonics.com are amazing tools that really increase the efficiency of how children learn to read, but there is no getting away from the magic that reading a proper book offers, so we are very excited about this new partnership.” Explained Devon's Sophie Cooper, a former primary school teacher and founder of ReadwithPhonics.com.

Sophie started Read with Phonics just over 3 years after she realised the importance that learning to read had on the rest of a child's education.

“Learning to read is the foundation of all education. It is the first thing you are taught when you start school, you simply cannot progress without it. As a teacher I was looking for new and exciting ways to help teach my students the 44 phonics sounds, but I couldn't find what I was looking for out there, and so I set about creating my own.”

The website and app has grown quickly, Read with Phonics is now in over 4,000 schools worldwide. The partnership with the Book People seems a logical connection.

“At the Book People, we’re passionate about helping children learn to read by providing the best children’s books at unbelievable prices. We’re therefore delighted to be partnering with Read with Phonics to spread the love of reading by giving away free books to their users. Whether it’s at home or in the classroom, all children should have the opportunity to learn to read in a fun and engaging way – we hope that our partnership with Read with Phonics will help children develop a life-long love of reading,“ explained Sarah Walden, Chief Operating Officer at the Book People

In order to claim a free book users must purchase access to ReadwithPhonics.com via their website for £7.99, the offer is not available through in-app purchases. Users are then sent a free code in which they can choose from a range of 9 free books including Julia Donaldson's The Gruffalo and the Rhyming Rabbit, as well as other hits such as Supertato Veggies Assemble and more. All books in the range have a RRP of £6.99.
