Ecclesiastical is giving £120,000 to good causes as part of its annual 12 days of giving Christmas campaign.

The specialist insurer will be giving 120 different charities an early Christmas gift of a £1,000 donation, with 10 winners announced each weekday from 5 to 20 December.

Ecclesiastical is inviting people to nominate a registered charity close to their hearts to benefit from this festive boost. It’s quick and easy to nominate a charity online. Nominations are open until 19 December and you can vote for your charity at www.ecclesiastical.com/12days

Kitley House Hotel was the stunning backdrop for Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) most recent fundraiser, the Firewalk; which involved 70 people walking on fire on Thursday evening and hoping to raise over £12,000 in sponsorship.

This is the first time that CHSW has put on a Firewalk fundraising event in Plymouth and it proved extremely popular with places flying out fast for people to take part in this unique event.

The event was put on by UK Firewalk and involved participants taking part in a training session led by Firewalk Guinness World Record holder Scott Bell....

Exeter College’s annual Festival of Carols will be kicking off Christmas in the stunning setting of Exeter Cathedral, complete with performances from college students; all in the name of charity.

The evening starts with a candle lit procession through the nave followed by performances from Exeter College students, orchestra and choir. The event is free to attend but collection boxes will be available...

Exeter Racecourse will be highlighting the invaluable work of Devon Air Ambulance at its charity raceday on Sunday, November 24.

Racecourse general manager Jack Parkinson said: “Devon’s Air Ambulances are very much an essential part of the community we live in and we are delighted to support their vital work. We have supported the charity for a number of years, but this is the first time we have named our raceday after the charity. We hope that this raceday will help towards raising much-needed funds, as well as being a great day out for all the family.”
