Exeter City Community Trust, the charitable arm of Exeter City Football Club, is stepping into a new sport as it joins a major national initiative to grow women’s rugby in the city ahead of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.

The Nello is back and cyclists can’t wait

One of Devon’s most iconic outdoor events is back this summer after a two-year break.

And the good news is, there’s still time to be a part of it.

The Nello bike ride - FORCE’s Cancer Charity’s biggest single fundraising event of the year – will take place on Sunday June 26.

Up to 1,500 cyclists will gather on the start line at Topsham Rugby Club, ready to take on the personal challenge of riding 55 or 100 miles.

The event has been virtual for the past two years due to COVID – riders choosing when and where to ride.

People in Devon are being invited to raise vital funds for Diabetes UK this summer as part of a drive to highlight why it is so important to know your risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

The One Million Step Challenge runs from 1 July to 30 September and is ideal for anyone looking for a way to get more active. You take one million steps over the course of three months – around 10,000 steps per day – and get sponsored for every stride.

The end-of-life charity Marie Curie is calling on people across the South West to throw a Blooming Great Tea Party in June and July to help fund vital care and support for those living with a terminal illness, and their families.

The charity’s fundraising appeal is a piece of cake – simply set a date to host a tea party and invite family, friends, or colleagues to tuck into a delectable treat and catch-up over a cuppa.

A team of riders from national law firm, Foot Anstey LLP, completed a two-day bike ride in support of the Disasters Emergency Committee's (DEC) Ukraine Appeal. The fundraisers have now raised over £5,000.

Foot Anstey LLP has partnered with Bristol-based charity Empire Fighting Chance to donate 70 laptops to five charities based near its offices across the South and South West.

The laptops will help reduce the digital divide that impacts many communities. In 2021, Ofcom reported that one in five children who had been home-schooling did not have access to an appropriate device for their schoolwork all the time1.
