Exeter City Community Trust, the charitable arm of Exeter City Football Club, is stepping into a new sport as it joins a major national initiative to grow women’s rugby in the city ahead of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.

The organisation, which is more used to the beautiful game than the oval ball, is joining with Exeter Chiefs and Exeter City Council as the delivery partner for the Strive ‘25 Rugby Challenge, a national programme aimed at engaging 25,000 women and girls in rugby across host cities. The Co-operative Bank has given £200 to Kenyan Educational Sponsorship community group which is dedicated to helping young people in Kenya achieve their academic potential, enabling them to realise their ambitions and make the most of their lives. They are currently sponsoring three bright but extremely poor students Marcy, Alfred and Vivian.

Thie £200 donation from Co-operative Bank’s Customer Donation Fund will help support these three academically talented students who come from impoverished village communities in Kenya.

Two University of Exeter students have set off on an epic 2,000 mile sponsored bike ride to Greece.

Jeremy Daubeny and Lottie Hinton have embarked on the 10-week trip to raise money for the Brain Tumour Charity and Motor Neurone Disease Association.

A team from National Highways will be taking to the roads of the South West over 24 hours later this month to raise funds for two mental health charities.

On June 23rd/24th, five members of the company’s South West team will attempt to cycle 261 miles on winding and hilly roads from Penzance in Cornwall, through Devon, Somerset and South Gloucestershire, to Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire.

An Exeter woman is set to tackle an epic 600-mile cycle challenge to support the charity which helped her as a teenager following cancer treatment.

On Saturday 14 May, OAndy Vodden, Assistant Provincial Grand Master of the Devon Freemasons paid a visit to the Hollow Lane Club, a registered charity which works within the Ellen Tinkham School in Exeter.
