Local community groups in Exeter and the local area, are being thrown a lifeline as a new British non-profit, GatherUK, launches to combat the rising "cost of connection" imposed by global tech giants. As major international event platforms hike their annual organiser fees to nearly £300 per year, many local hobby groups, walking clubs, and support circles are facing the threat of closure. Pets at Home is launching new community food donation points in stores across the UK to help support pets and owners as the cost of living continues to rise. 

Pets at Home’s store in Exeter is one of the first stores to feature the community collection points for those who wish to donate pet food to pet owners in need.

Sam Hammond, 30, is a man on a mission – with his fridge! Childrens Charity Brainwave Raises £40,000 to fund a new therapist

Brainwave has announced that they achieved their target of raising an additional £40,000, to support with the costs of a full-time therapist for a year.

The charity has been blown away by the generosity of supporters across the UK, who despite the cost-of-living crisis have still dug deep to support them during their 40th anniversary year.

Students across the University of Exeter have donated over £45,000 to the British Heart Foundation through its Moving On project, redirecting unwanted items that have been donated by university students leaving halls accommodation.
